Testimonials for Breast Chek Kit

• Dr. Redmond, who uses Breast Chek to examine her own breasts, described a patient who’d felt a tiny lump with the aid and had come in for a mammogram. “The lump failed to show up on the film, but the patient insisted on a biopsy anyway. The lump turned out to be cancerous”, said Dr. Redmond. (Good Housekeeping)

• Carole Withers, 50, of Durango, CO found two precancerous nodules in her left breast while using an aid. Even her doctor was unable to find the lumps without it. “As women, we have to take responsibility for our own bodies,” said Withers.(Good Housekeeping)Testimonials for Breast Chek Kit

My Story:

In September 2003 I found a lump the size of a birds egg in my left breast, but was sure it was only a cyst. However, I went to the Doctor and she referred me to a Breast clinic. Here the specialist (who went on to be my surgeon) examined me and agreed it was a cyst, which he drained. Then he felt around and found a tiny lump I didn't know about. Even after he had found it I still could not really detect it myself. After mammograms (we don't do them routinely in the UK until you are 50) a scan, and then a biopsy, it was found malignant. With no history of Breast cancer in the family and being extremely healthy at 48, I was devastated to be diagnosed with cancer. The tumour was only 8 mm.

The surgery was fairly simple and obviously we caught it very early and it had not spread to the lymph nodes. I had the operation 4 days after the diagnosis and I was out of hospital in 18 hours, back at work after 2-3 weeks. Then I did 18 sessions of radiotherapy - again I worked all through that. Now I have to search to even find the scar. I am SO grateful for that cyst! Had I not had it the cancer may still have been there and I may not have found it yet! Everyone was amazed at my recovery! So I know first-hand how important early detection is and what a difference it can make to the surgery and the treatment.

As the mother of two adult daughters, my first interest in the BreastChek kit was to help them with early detection, then I realised that EVERY WOMAN could benefit from having one and rose to the challenge to go out and join the mission to get a Breast Chek kit into the hands of every woman!

The Breast Chek Kit makes no claims that, even with its use, breast cancer, breast lumps, or other breast diseases will be found. It should be used in conjunction with regular clinical breast examinations and mammograms as advised by your physician.
